Carl McCormick, a veteran of fifteen ARCA RE/MAX Series starts, has always had a passion for cars and auto racing.  In 1984, sixteen-year-old Carl purchased his first racecar for $400, comparable to the $375 per tire price paid today by the NEXTEL Cup and ARCA RE/MAX Series teams.  From 1985 until 2001, McCormick terrorized Jax Raceway (Jacksonville), Volusia County Speedway (Florida) and Waycross Motor Speedway (Georgia), winning an incredible 30 races.

In 2001, Carl decided to move to the next level of competition and entered three ARCA RE/MAX Series races.  McCormick qualified 20th and finished 18th at Nashville Superspeedway on his first race ever on a paved oval.  In 2002, Carl finished 14th and 15th respectively at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (Charlotte) and Daytona in his only two series appearances.

In 2003, McCormick ran eight races and finished 24th in the season ending point’s championship.  The 2003 season witnessed five top twenty finishes including a career best finish of 12th at the Giant 200 at Pocono Raceway.  Carl drove a 2003 Ford Taurus owned by NASCAR legend James Hylton during the race.  Carl also recorded a 14th place finish at Chicagoland Speedway in the ReadyHosting.com 200.  In 2004, Carl again drove the Hylton Motorsport’s Ford and recorded two top 20 finishes at Kentucky Speedway and Salem Speedway.

James Hylton states “Carl McCormick can run with anybody in ARCA and with the right equipment he can beat them…..Carl is a good race driver and has the rare uncanny ability to avoid wrecks on the track and bring the car home in one piece”.
