Carl
McCormick,
a
veteran
of
fifteen
ARCA
RE/MAX
Series
starts,
has
always
had
a
passion
for
cars
and
auto
racing.
In
1984,
sixteen-year-old
Carl
purchased
his
first
racecar
for
$400,
comparable
to
the
$375
per
tire
price
paid
today
by
the
NEXTEL
Cup
and
ARCA
RE/MAX
Series
teams.
From
1985
until
2001,
McCormick
terrorized
Jax
Raceway
(Jacksonville),
Volusia
County
Speedway
(Florida)
and
Waycross
Motor
Speedway
(Georgia),
winning
an
incredible
30
races.
In
2001,
Carl
decided
to
move
to
the
next
level
of
competition
and
entered
three
ARCA
RE/MAX
Series
races.
McCormick
qualified
20th
and
finished
18th
at
Nashville
Superspeedway
on
his
first
race
ever
on
a
paved
oval.
In
2002,
Carl
finished
14th
and
15th
respectively
at
Lowe’s
Motor
Speedway
(Charlotte)
and
Daytona
in
his
only
two
series
appearances.
In
2003,
McCormick
ran
eight
races
and
finished
24th
in
the
season
ending
point’s
championship.
The
2003
season
witnessed
five
top
twenty
finishes
including
a
career
best
finish
of
12th
at
the
Giant
200
at
Pocono
Raceway.
Carl
drove
a
2003
Ford
Taurus
owned
by
NASCAR
legend
James
Hylton
during
the
race.
Carl
also
recorded
a
14th
place
finish
at
Chicagoland
Speedway
in
the
ReadyHosting.com
200.
In
2004,
Carl
again
drove
the
Hylton
Motorsport’s
Ford
and
recorded
two
top
20
finishes
at
Kentucky
Speedway
and
Salem
Speedway.
James
Hylton
